Google is likely to partner with music sites ‘iLike’ and ‘LaLa’ to offer downloads to people by showing links to these sites according to sources at TechCrunch and CNet. This idea belongs to Google, and seems like a great one! It will help deliver music and provide a one stop music resource to all those music lovers, as per the sources.

Here’s how it will work: When you search for an artist or a song on Google, it shows up as an Onebox result with an image, artist’s details and related videos or albums. With this new service Google will also display featured links to the artist’s songs and lets the user to purchase the song from the search result. For example, when you search for ‘Eminem’, you will find a thumbnail photo of the artist, biography and other information, as well as a listing of the music that you can preview and download, according to the sources. This is a really great initiative by Google and will certainly interest, a lot of music fans out there. MySpace recently acquired iLike and LaLa. MySpace allows complete streaming of music whereas iLike and LaLa don’t.
