There are a bunch of apps which do this and today we&#8217;ll discuss one such cool tool. This tool is applicable for all iOS users so take a close look. Firstly, download an application called the <a href="http://www.splashtop.com/remote">Splashtop Remote Touchpad</a> with your iPhone or iPod Touch from the iTunes Store, you will also need to download the Splashtop Remote Streamer application for your PC or Mac from the Slashtop Remote webpage.</p><p>After installing the app, launch Splashtop Remote and finish the setup process appropriately. Now you can configure the Remote Streamer application. You can now turn it on or off, configure network and security settings. When you finish doing all of this, go to your iPhone or iPod Touch and start using the downloaded app. After scanning through the list of computers that are Remote Streamer enabled, you may select your computer.</p><p><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-5204" title="Splashtop Remote" src="http://tech-buzz.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Splashtop-Remote-271x400.png" alt="Splashtop Remote" width="244" height="360" /><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-5205" title="Splashtop Remote (1)" src="http://tech-buzz.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Splashtop-Remote-1-271x400.png" alt="Splashtop Remote (1)" width="244" height="360" /></p><p>Enter the password you used when setting up the desktop app and now you can access your desktop with your iPhone or iPod Touch. You may move the cursor, double click an application on the desktop, right click or left click etc. You will see an icon on the top left portion of the screen which will bring out a virtual keyboard. This keyboard acts as a full PC keyboard, with more buttons, arrow keys and a windows button as well. You may tap on the same button on the top left corner to go back to use the device as a touchpad. You can change the sensitivity controls of the TouchPad according to your liking.</p><p>The Splashtop Remote TouchPad is an intuitive and easy to use application letting you remotely control your desktop through an iPhone or an iPod Touch from your office or at your friend&#8217;s place. But bear in mind that you need to be on a Wi-Fi network to access this feature.</p><p>Stories you may like:<ol><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2007/10/12/ipod-touch-now-runs-iphone-apps/' rel='bookmark' title='iPod Touch now runs iPhone Apps'>iPod Touch now runs iPhone Apps</a></li><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2008/02/06/apple-doubles-storage-on-iphone-and-ipod-touch/' rel='bookmark' title='Apple Doubles Storage on iPhone and iPod Touch'>Apple Doubles Storage on iPhone and iPod Touch</a></li><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2007/10/30/jailbreaking-made-easy-for-iphone-and-ipod-touch/' rel='bookmark' title='Jailbreaking made easy for iPhone and iPod Touch'>Jailbreaking made easy for iPhone and iPod Touch</a></li></ol></p><p>This article, <a href="http://tech-buzz.net/2011/04/25/remotely-control-your-pc-with-your-iphone-using-splashtop-remote-touchpad/">Remotely Control Your PC with Your iPhone Using Splashtop Remote Touchpad</a>, was published at <a href="http://tech-buzz.net">TechBuzz</a>. The battery problem spotted with iOS 4.3 still remains unresolved.</p><p><a href="http://tech-buzz.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/iOS-update.png"><img style="background-image: none; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;" title="iOS update" src="http://tech-buzz.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/iOS-update_thumb.png" border="0" alt="iOS update" width="379" height="262" /></a></p><p>And also Verizon users are not eligible for this update whose devices still run on iOS 4.2.6. But other networks, like AT&amp;T are very much eligible and you can go ahead with the update if you’ve seen connection problems with your carrier.</p><p>Stories you may like:<ol><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2009/10/30/apple-updates-apple-tv-3-0-software-update-with-itunes-extras-lp-genius-mixes-and-internet-radio-access/' rel='bookmark' title='Apple Updates: Apple TV 3.0 Software Update with iTunes Extras, LP, Genius Mixes and Internet Radio Access!'>Apple Updates: Apple TV 3.0 Software Update with iTunes Extras, LP, Genius Mixes and Internet Radio Access!</a></li><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2007/10/11/apple-sued-over-iphone-bricking/' rel='bookmark' title='Apple Sued over iPhone Bricking'>Apple Sued over iPhone Bricking</a></li><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2008/02/27/apple-updates-macbook-and-macbook-pro-lineup/' rel='bookmark' title='Apple Updates MacBook and MacBook Pro Lineup'>Apple Updates MacBook and MacBook Pro Lineup</a></li></ol></p><p>This article, <a href="http://tech-buzz.net/2011/03/26/apple-updates-ios-to-v4-3-1/">Apple updates iOS to v4.3.1</a>, was published at <a href="http://tech-buzz.net">TechBuzz</a>. But the excitement was short lived. Because, FaceTime only lets you make calls using Wi-Fi and these calls can only be made with fellow iOS devices like the iPhone 4 and the 4th Gen iPod Touch.</p><p>Well, Tango is an application available for both iOS and Android devices, and it lets you make video calls using 3G data unlike FaceTime which needs Wi-Fi. Tango has been an instant hit with the users with app downloads reaching a million every 2 weeks.</p><p>The application has seen immense growth in the past few months, hitting 8  million downloads (that’s a growth of 7 million downloads in 3 months) since it was first introduced around 4 months ago. Looking at the current flow, it is common sense to predict that the app would grow even further.</p><p>via <a href="http://techcrunch.com/2011/02/04/tango/?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed:+Techcrunch+(TechCrunch)">TechCrunch</a></p><p>Stories you may like:<ol><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2007/09/09/firefox-hits-400-million-downloads/' rel='bookmark' title='Firefox Hits 400 Million Downloads'>Firefox Hits 400 Million Downloads</a></li><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2009/12/09/youtube-shuts-its-video-downloads-program/' rel='bookmark' title='YouTube Shuts Its Video Downloads Program'>YouTube Shuts Its Video Downloads Program</a></li><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2006/12/03/million-dollar-homepage-comes-back-as-pixelotto/' rel='bookmark' title='Million Dollar Homepage Comes Back as Pixelotto'>Million Dollar Homepage Comes Back as Pixelotto</a></li></ol></p><p>This article, <a href="http://tech-buzz.net/2011/02/05/video-calling-app-tango-hits-8-million-downloads/">Video calling app Tango hits 8 million downloads</a>, was published at <a href="http://tech-buzz.net">TechBuzz</a>. These portable devices could be used anywhere and at any given time. In winter, people tend to wear gloves to keep themselves warm. In situations like these, it gets very hard to use these devices. Well, Apple have come up with a solution to this. They have patented gloves which are specifically made for use during winter. These gloves would be called the ‘Magic Gloves’ and is still in its research stages.&#160;</p><p>As we all know, iOS devices including the iPhone, the iPod Touch and the iPad are based on highly sensitive capacitive touchscreens with proximity sensors. Due to the high sensitivity, it is very difficult to operate these devices wearing gloves. So this seems like an innovative move by Apple. These gloves we presume, would be highly priced and would hopefully be out by winter.</p><p>Source <a href="http://www.patentlyapple.com/patently-apple/2011/01/apple-wins-patent-for-a-high-tactility-magic-glove-system.html">Patently Apple</a> via <a href="http://www.9to5mac.com/49079/apple-patents-magic-gloves-to-use-your-iphone-in-the-cold?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed:+9To5Mac-MacAllDay+(9+to+5+Mac+-+Apple+Intelligence)">9 to 5 Mac</a></p><p>Stories you may like:<ol><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2009/10/21/apple-introduces-new-wireless-magic-mouse-the-worlds-first-multi-touch-mouse/' rel='bookmark' title='Apple Introduces New Wireless Magic Mouse &#8211; The World&#8217;s First Multi-Touch Mouse'>Apple Introduces New Wireless Magic Mouse &#8211; The World&#8217;s First Multi-Touch Mouse</a></li><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2008/03/19/apple-patent-reveals-flip-phone-iphone/' rel='bookmark' title='Apple Patent Reveals Flip-Phone iPhone'>Apple Patent Reveals Flip-Phone iPhone</a></li><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2008/02/06/apple-doubles-storage-on-iphone-and-ipod-touch/' rel='bookmark' title='Apple Doubles Storage on iPhone and iPod Touch'>Apple Doubles Storage on iPhone and iPod Touch</a></li></ol></p><p>This article, <a href="http://tech-buzz.net/2011/01/26/apple-to-bring-out-magic-gloves-to-make-using-ios-devices-during-winter-easy/">Apple to bring out ‘Magic Gloves’ to make using iOS devices during winter easy</a>, was published at <a href="http://tech-buzz.net">TechBuzz</a>. There are some other companies who have had the genius idea of implementing this technology into cell phones. Companies like Sharp and LG have some glasses free 3D  phones up their sleeves which could be launched anytime this year. Spectacular indeed.</p><p>But now Japanese blog Kanteidan suggests that Apple might be considering something like this for their iPod touch devices. If this report is true, we could see the technology implemented on iPhones too since they have the same multi-touch display. Other reports claim that Apple are also working on a technology to control a game using FaceTime and face recognition. Well, Apple have had the uniqueness factor in every device they&#8217;ve launched so far. Could this be the best technological advancement by them yet?</p><p>Stories you may like:<ol><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2007/10/30/jailbreaking-made-easy-for-iphone-and-ipod-touch/' rel='bookmark' title='Jailbreaking made easy for iPhone and iPod Touch'>Jailbreaking made easy for iPhone and iPod Touch</a></li><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2008/02/06/apple-doubles-storage-on-iphone-and-ipod-touch/' rel='bookmark' title='Apple Doubles Storage on iPhone and iPod Touch'>Apple Doubles Storage on iPhone and iPod Touch</a></li><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2007/10/12/ipod-touch-now-runs-iphone-apps/' rel='bookmark' title='iPod Touch now runs iPhone Apps'>iPod Touch now runs iPhone Apps</a></li></ol></p><p>This article, <a href="http://tech-buzz.net/2011/01/18/glasses-free-3d-technology-to-be-implemented-for-the-ipod-touch/">Glasses free 3D technology to be implemented for the iPod touch?</a>, was published at <a href="http://tech-buzz.net">TechBuzz</a>. That’s all we knew about it so far, but thanks to <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/17/twitter-founder-jack-dorseys-squirrel-project-revealed-as-th/">Engadet</a>, we have more information regarding his new venture and how things work.</p><p align="center"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px" title="square-iphone" border="0" alt="square-iphone" src="http://tech-buzz.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/squareiphone.jpg" width="450" height="258" /></p><p>Dorsey’s new company is called Self Edge NYC, and the product is named as Square iPhone Payment System hosted at <a href="http://squareup.com/">SquareUp.com</a>. Basically, it’s a small plastic dongle which fits into the headphone jack of an iPhone or iPod Touch. It has the ability to read data from Credit Cards and transfer it to the iPhone application of the same.</p><p>A customer has to swipe his card over the dongle, and the staff will tell the application how much to charge the customer. The customer then reviews it, and confirms it by using a hand gesture over his signature and fills his email address to send the receipt. Square will process the payment and transfer funds to the store’s bank account directly. They’ll charge a small percentage, and/or a fixed fee for processing the payment. Customer’s receipt will include a map of the location where the transaction was done, which makes it extremely easy to keep track of your spending and file receipts wisely.</p><p>This <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/17/twitter-founder-jack-dorseys-squirrel-project-revealed-as-th/">revelation</a> comes from Engadget! They noticed squareup.com on system’s receipts. Checking the whois information of that domain exposed its contact information as billing [AT] paybysquirrel.com. This is how link between Dorsey’s Squirrel and Square were found.</p><p>Personally, I don’t see a reason why I’d prefer an iPhone-based Point of Sale terminal instead of the regular ones. But this thing sure has its own potential. Anything iPhone is uber-cool these days.</p><p>Stories you may like:<ol><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2006/06/17/google-testing-online-payment-service/' rel='bookmark' title='Google Testing Online Payment Service'>Google Testing Online Payment Service</a></li><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2007/08/27/first-native-im-client-and-irc-client-for-iphone-released/' rel='bookmark' title='First Native IM Client and IRC Client for iPhone Released'>First Native IM Client and IRC Client for iPhone Released</a></li><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2008/06/10/wwdc-iphone-3g-with-gps-launches-on-july-11th/' rel='bookmark' title='WWDC: iPhone 3G with GPS Launches on July 11th'>WWDC: iPhone 3G with GPS Launches on July 11th</a></li></ol></p><p>This article, <a href="http://tech-buzz.net/2009/10/18/twitter-founder-jack-dorseys-new-iphone-payment-project/">Twitter Founder Jack Dorsey&rsquo;s New iPhone Payment Project</a>, was published at <a href="http://tech-buzz.net">TechBuzz</a>. You can now shoot spontaneous video when you are listening to music, and view it later or transfer it to your computer. Another blessed new feature in the nano is the inclusion of a built-in FM tuner with Live Pause and iTunes Tagging. Live Pause lets you pause FM radio, while iTunes Tagging simply enables you to tag songs from Genius results in your nano, and then preview or purchase it using iTunes from your computer. iPod nano can keep track of your steps taken and calories burned using the built-in pedometer. In India, the new iPod Nano starts from Rs.9,400. Apple Store (<a href="http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_ipod/family/ipod_nano?mco=Nzk2MTA2Mg">link</a>):</p><ul><li>8GB: $149</li><li>16GB: $179</li></ul><p>(Check out the teardown photos of 5th generation iPod nano at <a href="http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/iPod-Nano-5th-Generation/1157/1">ifixit.com</a>)</p><p><strong>iPod Touch: </strong>iPod Touch now comes in three sizes, 8GB, 32GB and 64GB. Except for the price and capacity, no new feature like a video camera (like rumored) has been added.<strong> <br /></strong>Multi-Touch user interface, 3.5-inch widescreen glass display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a built-in accelerometer are standard.
