The rest of the Indian market will get the smartphone in mid-May. The smartphone runs on Intel’s Z2460 Atom processor with Intel Hyper-Threading Technology. The XOLO X900 is the first of its kind running on <a href="http://tech-buzz.net/tag/intel">Intel</a>’s Atom mobile CPU. It goes without saying that other OEMs are pretty interested in rolling out a smartphone with the said processor. The XOLO X900 is priced at Rs. 22,000 ($425) in India.</p><p>The single core processor on the XOLO X900 is clocked at 1.6 GHz and even though it doesn’t have multiple cores, it is believed to perform fairly well and rightly so. For the smooth flow of apps, the phone packs a decent 1GB RAM. The device comes with an 8MP camera sensor which has a unique burst mode feature which lets the user capture 10 images in under second. The smartphone can also capture 1080p Full HD image and video.</p><p>The XOLO X900 has a 4.03 inch display with a resolution of 1024&#215;600 (295 ppi) which makes it stand out against the rest of the 4 inch droids out there. The handset is currently available in India, and it’s not known if it will be sold outside of India. Either way, Lenovo has plans to launch an Intel powered smartphone as well, so that should cover most of the world. Sadly though, the XOLO X900 runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and not Ice Cream Sandwich as you would have expected. But it is hoped that an update will be provided soon.</p><p>[<a title="Source" href="http://www.gsmarena.com/intel_medfield_based_lava_xolo_x900_launched_in_india-news-4118.php" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Source</a>]</p><p>Stories you may like:<ol><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2011/06/10/htc-salsa-launches-in-india/' rel='bookmark' title='HTC Salsa Launches In India'>HTC Salsa Launches In India</a></li><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2006/07/14/intel-to-layoffs-1000-managers-globally/' rel='bookmark' title='Intel to layoffs 1,000 managers globally'>Intel to layoffs 1,000 managers globally</a></li><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2011/06/10/htc-sensation-now-available-in-india-via-online-retailer/' rel='bookmark' title='HTC Sensation Now Available In India Via Online Retailer'>HTC Sensation Now Available In India Via Online Retailer</a></li></ol></p><p>This article, <a href="http://tech-buzz.net/2012/04/19/lava-xolo-x900-running-on-intel-atom-medfield-cpu-launches-in-india/">Lava XOLO X900 Running On Intel Medfield CPU Launches In India</a>, was published at <a href="http://tech-buzz.net">TechBuzz</a>. As the source rightly points out, Intel’s new offering will aid next gen Macs/PCs. There is every possibility that we would see the Macs being refreshed this year, as the rumors suggests. So the timing for the launch couldn’t have been any better. Intel also has a low voltage variant, the U-Series all set to make its way to the market.</p><p>Also making its way apparently is the second generation Thunderbolt controller. Although it seems more like a cost cutting upgrade rather than a performance based one, it should help OEMs save a few bucks. Thunderbolt will be implemented in non-Mac devices starting from this year and we could see a variety of OEMs implementing this new technology. This next gen Thunderbolt tech is codenamed Cactus Ridge. If you look into the Thunderbolt controller comparison chart, you will notice that the DSL3510 (3.4W) is the most powerful of the lot and it comes with a variety of internal Display port inputs. This makes it very likely to be implemented in future iMacs and PCs. DSL3310 (2.1W) however is a notebook friendly controller with its power saving capability. The lineup of iMac <a href="http://tech-buzz.net/2011/05/04/apple-refreshes-its-imac-line-up-with-new-processor-thunderbolt-io-and-better-graphics/">was refreshed last year in May</a> with Thunderbolt.</p><p><img style="background-image: none; margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;" title="Thunderbolt controller comparison" src="http://tech-buzz.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Thunderbolt-controller-comparison.png" alt="Thunderbolt controller comparison" width="321" height="219" border="0" /></p><p>So while this news is very enticing, it might take a while for OEMs to implement it in their respective notebooks/PCs. And remember, Thunderbolt isn’t just an Apple affair this time around.</p><p>[<a title="Source" href="http://9to5mac.com/2012/04/12/ivy-bridge-launching-april-29-as-next-gen-thunderbolt-ships-likely-to-land-in-next-macs/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Source</a>]</p><p>Stories you may like:<ol><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2007/07/15/intel-joins-100-laptop-project/' rel='bookmark' title='Intel Joins $100 Laptop Project'>Intel Joins $100 Laptop Project</a></li><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2006/07/14/intel-to-layoffs-1000-managers-globally/' rel='bookmark' title='Intel to layoffs 1,000 managers globally'>Intel to layoffs 1,000 managers globally</a></li><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2008/01/09/intel-unveils-sixteen-new-processors-but-remains-tightlipped-on-the-actual-street-date-for-its-quad-core-offerings/' rel='bookmark' title='Intel unveils sixteen new processors, but remains tightlipped on the actual street date for its quad-core offerings'>Intel unveils sixteen new processors, but remains tightlipped on the actual street date for its quad-core offerings</a></li></ol></p><p>This article, <a href="http://tech-buzz.net/2012/04/12/intel-ivy-bridge-processor-breaking-cover-on-april-23/">Intel Ivy Bridge Processor Breaking Cover On April 23</a>, was published at <a href="http://tech-buzz.net">TechBuzz</a>. Until last year, Motorola had a very low global presence not many smartphones to look out for (not the top end ones at least). Maybe the company was too focused on the American markets. With the recent acquisition of Google however, things started to seem bright again. Well, now we have a render/sketch of a new smartphone which could well be the company’s first Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone, or so the rumors suggest.</p><p>What’s better is the fact that this could well be the first smartphone with an Intel branded mobile processor (<strong>Medfield</strong>) on board. We guess it does make sense a little but at the same time it’s too early to take it seriously. No doubt Intel’s Medfield chip is something that has been spoken about in the past, but the render just seems to be like a Galaxy Nexus rip off. Post the announcement of the Galaxy Nexus, we haven’t seen smartphones with the three touch sensitive buttons as you see on the image. But that could be because of the fact that there aren’t a lot of ICS smartphones being announced. What do you think about the render? Let us know in by dropping a line or two below.</p><p>[<a title="Source" href="http://pocketnow.com/android/motorolas-first-intel-powered-ice-cream-sandwich-revealed-images" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Source</a>]</p><p>Stories you may like:<ol><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2011/10/21/top-10-android-icecream-sandwich-4-0-features/' rel='bookmark' title='Top 10 Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Features That Makes It Tastier Than Ever Before'>Top 10 Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Features That Makes It Tastier Than Ever Before</a></li><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2012/02/11/acer-cloudmobile-smartphone-revealed/' rel='bookmark' title='Acer CloudMobile Smartphone Revealed'>Acer CloudMobile Smartphone Revealed</a></li><li><a href='http://tech-buzz.net/2011/05/29/ice-cream-sandwich-test-device-gets-pictured-rumor/' rel='bookmark' title='Ice Cream Sandwich Test Device Gets Pictured [Rumor]'>Ice Cream Sandwich Test Device Gets Pictured [Rumor]</a></li></ol></p><p>This article, <a href="http://tech-buzz.net/2012/02/14/could-this-be-motorolas-first-ice-cream-sandwich-smartphone/">Could This Be Motorola&#8217;s First Ice Cream Sandwich Smartphone?</a>, was published at <a href="http://tech-buzz.net">TechBuzz</a>. Intel has rolled out a video about how they have developed hardware and software in tune with each others efforts to improve Windows 7 and take full advantage of Intel&#8217;s advances in computer processing technology. One of these advances consists of the successful partnership with Intel and Dell&#8217;s <a href="http://content.dell.com/uk/en/enterprise/virtualization.aspx">virtualisation</a> solution. Many organizations are opting to use this virtual server infrastructure with Windows 7 because it is cost effective and efficient.<br /> <a href="http://tech-buzz.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/intellogo2.jpg"><img style="border-width: 0px; border-style: none; border-color: -moz-use-text-color; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" title="intel-logo" src="http://tech-buzz.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/intellogo_thumb2.jpg" alt="intel-logo" width="400" height="271" border="0" /></a></p><p><a href="http://tech-buzz.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/microsoft2.jpg"><img style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border: 0px;" title="microsoft" src="http://tech-buzz.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/microsoft_thumb2.jpg" alt="microsoft" width="400" height="320" border="0" /></a></p><p>Some of the features mentioned in the video are:</p><ul><li>Faster Encryption and Decryption on Windows 7</li><li>Minimized Boot, Startup, Resume and Shutdown Times</li><li>Energy Efficiency and Power Management</li><li>Desktop Deployment System Center Configuration Manager SP2</li><li>Out-of-Band Management on Wired and Wireless Networks</li><li>Audit Compliance</li></ul><blockquote><p>Intel and Microsoft have collaborated on Windows 7 since before Microsoft launched Vista to create the best experience for consumers and businesses.
