Numerous sources mention that the next Galaxy device will be known as the Galaxy S III, while some sources think otherwise. To make things more inconclusive, Samsung has been rather silent about the device to keep the buzz going till May 3. But the company might have just given it away on its own with the mention of the name “galaxy s3” in one of its applications in the Google Play Store. Samsung has an Android application for the Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2012 event on the Google Play store. The idea behind the app is to keep the users updated about the latest Samsung smartphone launches and the May 3 event of course.
And in the description of the app, the name “galaxy s3” is mentioned which is kind of big given that the company has refrained from using any sort of names for its next flagship. This makes us think that the device could be known as the Galaxy S III after all. But as the source rightly mentions, the name could have been used to bring in more traffic. To support this claim, the keywords also mention the galaxy S3 name. So could it merely be a search tag to lure traffic? We’ll have to wait till May 3rd to know more. It does seem plausible really to name the device as the Galaxy S III, but various reports suggesting otherwise has made us rather skeptical.
