Nokia Lumia 800 And 710 Breaks Cover In India
The two new flagships from Nokia in the form of the Lumia 800 and the Lumia 700 were announced today for the Indian market. Looking at how the companies were going at it, we didn’t expect to see the handset to be revealed until next month at least. But thankfully, Nokia was considerate enough in keeping the Indian customers in mind. But the handset will not break cover until mid December according to Nokia, so there’s at least a month more till we get to see it hit the shelves.

The Lumia 800 is an above average Windows Phone 7.5 smartphone, the first from Nokia actually. This incidentally is the same handset which Mr Stephen Elop “accidentally” leaked at Hong Kong (known as the Sea Ray back then). The handset features a N9’esque design with very similar body construction and features a 3.7 inch ClearBlack AMOLED display. On the camera front, the Lumia 800 packs an 8MP sensor with Carl Zeiss optics capable of recording 720p HD video without a hitch. There’s a 1.4 GHz Scorpion (Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 chipset) processor on board as well with advanced 3D hardware acceleration. It must be noted that Nokia has used the same processor for the Lumia 710 as well. The Lumia 800 comes with 16GB of onboard storage with 25GB of SkyDrive storage for audio and image files.

The Lumia 710 also comes with a 3.7 inch display, but since this is targeted towards the mid ranged customers, they’ve decided to include a regular TFT display. There’s 5MP camera on board which can record 720p HD video and take some great snapshots as well. All in all the 710 is a great handset for the mid ranged market segment. The Lumia 710 comes with 8GB of storage and 25GB of SkyDrive storage. The Lumia 800 is said to cost Rs. 29,000 ($576) in India while the Lumia 710 is believed to be priced at Rs. 19,000 ($377).
