Microsoft to Release Kinect for Windows SDK Beta

If reports from Winrumors are to be believed, Microsoft may release Kinect software development kit for Windows at today’s “Channel 9” special developer web presentation. This news was publicized at the Red Innova conference in Madrid today, when Microsoft Spain President revealed some inside information regarding Kinect SDK for Windows.

Microsoft’s Kinect controller-less gaming accessory for Xbox 360 has been a game changer for Microsoft. Microsoft broke their sales estimate of 5 million units and shipped 10 million units during last season. Guinness Book of World Records gave Kinect the title of fastest-selling consumer electronic device, when Microsoft sold 8 million units in the first 60 days of its launch, averaging around 133,333 units per day.
