Most of us are very familiar with the BlackBerry PlayBook which launched last month. The tablet however did not meet the expectations of the experts and was subject to extensive criticism. And now, it seems like RIM has a 10-inch variant for the BlackBerry PlayBook up its sleeve which could possibly launch by the end of the year. But we didn’t see RIM mention anything about a variant at the three day BlackBerry World Conference. Sadly, this is all the info that is available as of now about the 1o-inch sibling of the PlayBook so we’re not quite sure if there would be any other changes to the tablet besides a larger display.
It seems a bit unlikely that RIM could launch a variant to the relatively new BB PlayBook in about 8 months, so take this with a pinch of salt for now. But if it turns out to be true, RIM would desperately like to add a few things that are missing from the current 7-inch PlayBook which does not have a dedicated e-mail client, which is a deal breaker really. So this is something that RIM would want to look into. [Source]
