Ixquick is a new proxy service started by Startpage.com and Metasearch search engine Ixquick. Ixquick allows users to surf the web with complete privacy. It let’s users surf the world wide web safely without revealing any personally identifiable or private information to the websites being viewed.
Ixquick is a free service which provides complete anonymity to the user enabling the user to surf the internet anonymously and safely. They claim it to be world’s most private search engine.
When users perform search on the website they will see a ‘proxy’ option below the search results. When this is activated, Ixquick allows the user to surf anonymously by retrieving the page and display it in the Ixquick window.
The proxy service does not record IP address of the user. It does not record the user searches or any details about proxy usage. It keeps the user invisible to the viewed website, and the viewed site cannot place cookies or see the user’s browser. The proxy offers complete anonymity to the user who wants to surf the web without revealing any private information.
The company’s launched it’s service on 28th January to celebrate the international Data Privacy Day! Ixquick’s consumer data collection is third-party certified by the European Privacy seal.
