Apple has ended weeks of speculation on it’s long awaiting tablet the Apple iPad. The iPad looks like a larger version of the iPhone. It can be used to play games, watch movies and browse the web.
According to Steve Jobs: “This device lets you hold the whole world wide web in you hands. It is the best the browsing experience you’ve ever had”
Apple iPad Specifications:
The Apple iPad weighs in at 1.5 pounds (0.7 kilo) and has a 9.7 inch multi-touch LCD. It’s core is a custom-built Apple own A4 1 GHz CPU. It has 16GB to 64GB of flash storage space.
Apple claims it has a 10 hour battery life . It has 802.11n, WiFi, and Bluetooth 2.1 for connectivity. It also has a speaker, microphone and 30-pin connector. It is about half an inch thick and has a built in Accelerometer.
iPad has iTunes software built in and allows users to buy music and movies straight to the device. It also allows users to download applications and supports third-party software apart from the built in Apple apps. Apple claims that the iPad will run most existing iPhone apps straight out of the box. iPad allows synchronizing apps between the two devices.
Apple is launching a developers kit for software developers, to help create apps for the new iPad. Steve Jobs also announced a new app called iBooks, to manage ebooks on the iPad.
