Get Windows 7 System Recovery Discs

Just three days before Windows 7’s retail launch, Neosmart has released Windows 7 System Recovery Discs. This disc comes in handy to repair your computer when the startup gets corrupted. You wouldn’t need this disc if you have the installation media, which holds a tool called as “Windows 7 Recovery Center”. But typically hardware vendors don’t offer the physical installation media, but they make an isolated partition in the hard drive for recovery option.

This Windows 7 System Recovery Discs is a stripped down version of the actual installation media and weighs just 143MB and 165MB (x86 and x64 respectively). This disc contains some much-needed recovery options like System Recovery Menu, System Restore, Complete PC Backup, Automated System Repair, and a command-line prompt for advanced consumers. But unlike the actual installation disc, you cannot use this disc to re-install Windows. Therefore it’s always wise to keep your physical installation media, if you were lucky enough to get one, or actually purchased one.

You can find the torrent links to download The Windows 7 Recovery Disc from NeoSmart. Alternatively, Ryan from CyberNetNews has uploaded the files to Mediafire (direct download links available on his blog). Just download it, and burn it on a CD and keep it. It will surely come to the rescue one of these days.
