Verizon’s “Droid Does” Anti-iPhone Advertisement

This holiday season Verizon is trying to upset iPhone sales with their newly launched anti-iPhone ads named “Droid Does”.

Droid Does ads mock iPhone’s weaknesses by saying: iDon’t – have real keyboard, run simultaneous apps, take 5-megapixel pictures, customize, run widgets, allow open development, take pictures in the dark, interchangeable batteries. “Droid Does” ad on YouTube:

This is one of the first ads in a series of advertisements promoting Motorola Droid handset which is coming next month. Droid is powered by Google Android 2.0, it’s packed with 5-Megapixel camera with flash, multi-tasking enabled, physical and touch input options, interchangeable battery. Nice ad campaign for a potential iPhone killer. Poking Apple head-on!

The Verizon Droid Phone is obviously something that apple has got to pay attention to and I'm sure this phone will be a defining moment in the mobile world.
  • The iPhone is the number 1 smartphone and I don't think the Droid will change this. The iPhone has an unrivalled App Store, and even with the flaws it has, is still the best.
  • I really can't take sides here because we haven't really seen the Droid. It's yet to be released. From the specs, it looks cool though
