Printing photos taken from your iPhone usually involves transferring photos from your iPhone to your computer, which is painstakingly slow and laborious.
Canon has come out with an iPhone App known as Canon Easy-PhotoPrint for iPhone (iEPP). It prints wirelessly using a local WiFi network. The iPhone application is now available on the iTunes App Store as a free download.
The Canon iEPP App lets you print photos as large as 8 1/2 x 11 on six different types of paper. It also facilitates users to print up to 20 copies at one go, to a compatible Canon PIXMA printer such as PIXMA MP990, MP640 and MP560 Wireless Photo All-in-One (AIO) printers enabling easy creation of photos. This App also lets you print bordered or borderless photos. When you launch the Canon iEPP, it automatically finds printers on a wireless network. You can also start your camera directly from Canon iEPP application, and print awesome photos captured by while you had nothing to do.
Yuichi Ishizuka, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Consumer Imaging Group, Canon U.S.A. says: “This new technology enables users to print multiple images at one time while selecting varying sizes and paper types, making it easier than ever for consumers to print the images they want from their revolutionary iPhone or iPod touch.
The application only works for PIXMA MP990, MP640 and MP560 and not every other Wireless printer from Canon, that’s the only downside I think. HP has a similar application called iPrint Photo for HP branded printers.
