The combination of unnecessary interface changes (which alienate established users) with a lack of compelling new capabilities is a strong incentive to continue using the now very old version of office. You would think that Microsoft would have realized that random interface changes hurt their brand rather than help it by now. This only looks good because the 2007 version of office was a steaming pile of you-know-what.
