How to Get iTunes Account without Credit Card

As you know, iTunes is a great tool for managing and playing music, but some features like downloading album art, Genius are available for only those who have an iTunes Account. I love Apple products, but I don’t have credit card to sign-up for a free iTunes account. Luckily, I figured a loop-hole in their system. You can simply sign-up for App Store without a credit card, and get iTunes Account.

  1. Open iTunes and go to iTunes Store
  2. Navigate to App Store by clicking “App Store” link on the left-hand side menu.
  3. Next step is to purchase a free application by clicking on “Get App” link
  4. Create a new account, agree to the terms and condition, fill-up whatever they ask you.
  5. Now you should be able to see a new payment option “None”.
  6. Verify your account by clicking on the link sent through email.

You should be able to use Genius (depending on whether or not, it’s available in your country), and download album art for your library. I learnt of this trick on Apple Support Forum.

PS: Sorry for the irregular posting intervals. My board exams are on, and I’ve got lots of educational overheads to fulfill. I’ll be back with full enthusiasm within two weeks of time.

    Thank for this great article. I have always thought one need a CC to have iTunes account.

    your article is gonna help lots of people. Even though Genius (for example) is not available in your country, since you do not need a CC, you can open iTunes account in any country, can’t you?

    thanx for all the good and free info i really need it because money is tight and i have 3 kids. i tried to use the rapidshare but it would not let me. i stayed up for 2 days in a row trying to figure a way out to get it w/o having to pay such a big cost. if there is any way that you have any logins or passwords that are valid would you please send me one. i dont even care to share a secured one with people because i know how hard it is to find it. or if you could tell me where to find it exactly i would appreciate that too. thanx.

    Of course, an individual needs to have an iTunes account before they can get their digital copy of the movie. And a user can only copy a movie to one iTunes account. You make it easy for users.

    I have an account for free apps but if I try to download an app that costs, it asks for credit card info. That is fine, I would expect that, the thing is, I purchased an ITunes $25 card and clicked redeem in ITunes and entered the #. It says I have $25 in there but when I go to download an app it tries to get credit card info. After an hour of frustration and trying everything, I entered the info and it told me my security code was wrong.. no it wasn’t! I cannot do a thing yet at the top of the screen it says there is $25 in there.. any ideas anyone?
