Install Multiple Versions of Internet Explorer in Vista

If you are a web designer, then it’s necessary that you check how your website renders in various browsers, but unfortunately, you cannot install various versions of Internet Explorer on the same computer. Luckily, there is a new tool called Internet Explorer Collection which practically allows you to install every version of Internet Explorer right from IE 1.0 to IE 8.0 Beta. Unlike other competing software, this one works on Windows Vista as well.

While installing IE Collection, certain versions of IE which are incompatible with your operating system will be automatically disabled. They regularly update their application adding newer versions of IE as and when they are released.

Internet Explorer Collection contains the following versions of IE:

  • Internet Explorer 1.0 (4.40.308)
  • Internet Explorer 1.5 (0.1.0.10)
  • Internet Explorer 2.01 (2.01.046)
  • Internet Explorer 3.0 (3.0.1152)
  • Internet Explorer 4.01 (4.72.3110.0)
  • Internet Explorer 5.01 (5.00.3314.2100)
  • Internet Explorer 5.5 (5.51.4807.2300)
  • Internet Explorer 6.0 (6.00.2800.1106)
  • Internet Explorer 6.0 (6.00.2900.2180)
  • Internet Explorer 7.0 (7.00.5730.13)
  • Internet Explorer 8.0 (8.00.6001.18372)

If you are a web developer, then this is a must-have tool for you, else… there is nothing much to play with.

    Oh thanks. :)
  • It will be great. This is my first visit.Good site.
  • Thanks for writing this post, I'm constantly being asked questions about whether a site is compatible for this version of IE - so to finally find out that IE Collection will allow me to test compatibility before going live will make live a lot easy.

    Thanks

  • Why would anyone want to install multiple versions on IE on a single PC?!

IE is honestly a crappy browser. Use IE and your just asking to be infected with tons of malware!

Rather use Firefox, Opera or Chrome!

Unfortunately, IE (specifically earlier versions) is required to log into some Cerner websites because of security settings for the Cerner software (e.g. hospitals, clinics, etc.). Therefore, even access to even older versions of Internet Explorer are vital (no matter how much I despise the program).
