Thats a nice strategy by yahoo. I actually use Yahoo messenger and like it so I guess I only need it now. Goodbye to Google Talk!

Whatever happens, I will still use meebo. Its alot easier than having all clients open and even just one, it works with your web browser.

Pallab: Yeah, I felt the same way. Yahoo has their own YPN ad network, why the heck would they turn towards Google?

Eventually, I believe, Yahoo is either going to be with Google or Microsoft. Future doesn’t look so bright. Any thoughts on this one?

I welcome the interoperability as it is indeed very badly needed. I however still maintain, like I have been in many other forums, that the last has not been heard about the Microsoft take over bid for Yahoo saga.

I prefer yahoo messenger than google talk if they will inoperable then thats very good.

I really hope someone somewhere (anti-trust authorities) find something wrong with the deal and it falls through.
Its a stupid deal and will achieve nothing other than reinforcing google’s monopoly and pushing yahoo slowly and surely towards death.
How could yahoo do something so stupid?
As soon as they start using adsense they reduce the valuation of their own ad system (as at the moment adsense provides unmatchable cpc). Whatever little advertisers yahoo had would shift to adsense, thus making yahoo wholly dependent on google over time.
This deal is absolutely suicidal.
