Opera Browser Gets a Makeover!

Seems like the browser makers are getting a little more focused on look and feel. Remember when Mozilla dumped their cross-platform theme and designed different themes for every operating system? Opera Browser is the newest browser to join the bandwagon. Opera has been having the same theme for several years now, and a makeover was needed. They’ve released a preview build of Opera 9.5 featuring the new theme called "Sharp". It has been designed in a way to not steal any focus from your browsing and gathers inspirations from high end video/audio equipments.

As you can see from the screenshot, they’ve decided to go metallic black this time. The theme as a whole looks pretty sharp and clean, but there are a few exceptions. The reload button looks odd for the skin; it’s green and stands out of the black interface. I found the tabs close button to be very small, for some odd reason, it has been aligned to the top, instead of center (like all other browsers).

What do you feel about the new theme? Tell us through comments.

I have just switched to Opera because a friend told me about it. I Hate IExplorer and FireFox has to many Bugs in it. I will say that FireFox has a lot more add-ons and Themes than Opera does. I do however like this new theme Opera came out with. I will be using the Opera browser for a while to give it a fair try before I decide which I like the best. Now that I figured out how to activate the Spell Checker I am very pleased.
  • My primary browser is FireFox, but I use Opera very often. I like new Opera design, it looks like clean!
  • I like the theme!
I have tried several themes for firefox but none have really impressed me. But I dont really care too much for themes....
  • I find this new black look awful! Opera is my main browser but I need to get rid of this new look.
  • I want to know that the differences are between Opera and Firefox, i was under the impression that they had the same creators... Not sure why.
