You can now send free SMS to all major countries using Jaxtr’s newly launched free text messaging service. Jaxtr covers 38 international countries including US, UK, Canada, India, Pakistan and several other Asian countries.
Your text message can hold upto 65 characters and Jaxtr will append a mobile friendly link at the end of your message. Your recipient can use this link to reply back. Meanwhile, there is an option to receive replies back to your phone as well.
You need to be member of Jaxtr to send free SMS. However, the membership won’t cost you anything, so that’s not an issue. [Via: Mashable]

I’m assuming that Jaxtr is keeping the remaining 95 characters for an advertisement, right?

Text Message Blog: Yeah, I guess so. But as of now, there are no advertisements in the text message (at here in India)

This service looks to be good if it works flawlessly that is. And i feel that 65 characters is a bit too low…..
Well, time to see if it works here in pakistan….

Fahad: Pakistan is covered by Jaxtr, so you should be able to send SMS without any flaws.
Nicole Price: Yeah, but they charge for every SMS you send.

Thanks for the info, have already logged on to their site and am busy downloading as we speak….have also sent off my 1st sms, waiting 4 response. Looks like an awesome free service, admittedly 65 characters are a bit short, but great for hooking up with friends all over the world!

it sounds good.bt its good 4 nothing.when you send the sms,the receiver gts it as a wap link.so if your friend dont have a full fledged gprs connection, then its just another crappy service.
i used the free sms service, its fast but this feature mks it really no good.
