God damn they are greedy.Vista still didn’t replaced the XP and they are making Win 7?! About Mac it is good that you get whole package OSX and PC that will support it,but large number of us don’t want to buy whole PC to get an OS.And damn i hate low support of Win apps on Linux,not to talk about popular games most of people play!
(i switched back from Ubuntu to WinXP just for games!)

Why start work on a new OS when the previous one does not run properly? How about finishing off/fixing Vista first?

Okay, so they’re going to bring out Windows 7 before they have enough time to fix everything that’s wrong with Vista? I wonder what they’ll include in 7 that’s so much better. Oh, oh maybe we could have like… an HD video background for Internet Explorer, or maybe better security so even the administrator of the computer has to wait for Microsoft to approve every action, oh we could also get more 32-bit support! Everyone loves 32-bit processors, no need for really good 64-bit driver/processor support!

Tech Roach: Not sure about Vista’s success, but I guess Windows 7 is going to be just a upgraded version of Vista. C`mon they already re-written everything from scratch in Vista, will they do it again? Probably they won’t!

From some of the leaked screenshots, it looks as if the Aero interface is here to stay. The taskbar and the start menu is pretty much the same, expect for some functional changes in the start menu. Oh yeah, you can expect some security improvements and fancy icons.

Regard Apple, I think being proprietary is their sole advantage. This way, they have control over both hardware and software, making it easier for consumers, developers and Apple themselves. But for people like you and me, who love modding our computers, I guess Mac isn’t for us!

I heard someone say that Windows 7 would be a complete remake from scratch. Vista was a flop, ok ? I think they should speed it up with the next one or they’re going to lose market share to Mac.

Personally, I hate Apple. They’re too proprietary and are bent to enslave mankind. But I do like their iPhone. Not their philosophy. So, I think Mac shouldn’t get marketshare.

I agree. I don’t know why they are hurrying so much. It seems un needed. But of course the reason is to make MONEY! Like you said everyone will want to upgrade to the new version. I wonder if the new release will even be any good or if it will be improved only a small bit.

I agree, they should concentrate on Vista as it seriously needs some work. Vista seriously frustrates me, I don’t see why there needed to be a change from XP when it was perfectly fine, all for money if you ask me.

You can’t even move a file from one folder to another on Vista without needing super permission from the admins on the PC – ridiculous! Everytime I load up a PC game it asks for permission, once again, just remember it!!

Anyway don’t get me started on Vista, lets hope the next OS will be a whole lot more user friendly.
