Sorry for the Downtime

We had a huge downtime 22 hour downtime yesterday (Sunday). /var partition became read-only and my host (LunarPages) had to do an rsync move from the old server to a new machine. Luckily, the downtime was on Sunday and usually the traffic is low on weekends.

To our regular readers: “Sorry for the inconvenience caused by the downtime”

Which hosting plan do you have at Lunarpages

I forgive. I was wondering what happened. I asked Eva White if she knew, or commented, but no. That was a long time! I’m glad that doesn’t commonly happen to my site!

I noticed that there was a problem but was having a bad internet day and assumed it was my end.

Doesn’t look like you lost any data though? Hope not and glad to see you back to full speed.

Downtimes are always irritating. the 9 Hours of downtime on 29th Feb pushed me to move onto a new server, and Liquidweb has been nothing short of amazing so far.

I suggest you look alternatives to Lunarpages, because I seriously find Lunarpages lacking in terms of reliability and support.

Nathaniel: Where do you host your site?

Steve Elliott: No, I didn’t loose any data, but I did loose a lot of traffic. On of typical sunday, I get about 3K uniques, so I kinda missed it out this time.

Karthik Kastury: I just paid my bills in Feb, so at least no moving for another year or so. Lucky, you moved away just in time. Just let me know, how it goes for you at LiquidWeb
