YouTube is testing out a new personalized homepage feature. You can opt-in by logging into YouTube and then visiting this link. Next time onwards, you’ll be automatically redirected to the personalized homepage upon login.
As you’ve probably figured it out already, personalized homepage focuses on providing video recommendation based on your past viewing habits, showing latest videos from your subscription and your friends activity (uploading, rating, or favoriting videos)
By clicking on "customize this page", you can remove certain modules (sections) to clean-up your personalized homepage, but I think it would have been awesome, if you could drag-and-drop modules or atleast if we could somehow move modules to different locations.

Thanks for the link, I’ve had a YouTube account for ages and also found the interface a bit cumbersome.
What I found suprising is that the new beta page gives a quick summary of “videos received”. I had 855 - of those, 730 came from one person. Never realised the spam was so bad!

I have joined the YouTube community, with no videos but millions of comments. I am kind of embarrassed about the thought of someone stoppin by my homepage and see that it has no videos. I agree with you about being able to move modules to different places, or to have more, or even to creatyour own.

It sounds like a good move depending on the actual things you could add to the homepage.

About time that they changed the personal page. The amount of content is still awesome though, so no comment about that.

I don’t really like youtube’s current layout so this will probably help me improve it to my liking a bit. Thanks for the info, I am going over to youtube right away to test this out.
