16 months after being acquired by Google, JotSpot is finally back and has been rebranded as Google Sites. It’s the first service to be exclusively available on Google Apps (on free version as well). Although Google doesn’t mention the word "wiki" anywhere in their press release, it’s basically a tool to create collaborative web content by allowing anyone to edit the Google sites page and recording all edits, so that we can undo edits.
All editing is done through a rich text editor for basic formatting. YouTube, Picasa, Google Calendar, Google Docs can be directly embedded inside the Google site page to make collaborating and sharing as easy as it can get.
Google Site wikis can be made private, shared with others, or public. User can pick a template, but can’t customize it as of now. Perhaps, Google will release an API for template creation somewhere in the near future.
Google Sites will be rolled out to all existing Google Apps account starting tonight. At the time of writing this post, I wasn’t able to try Google Sites. Hopefully, I’ll get to play with it by tomorrow.

No hosting required. This should be good, so do we save on the hosting charges??

Is there anything or anbody that Google doesn’t own?
@Rice Blogger - how can you determine if you domain will support Google Apps?
