Since the last couple of weeks, I’ve been thinking of re-launching our forum, but it was only yesterday that I actually worked on materializing my thoughts. I was able migrated from Simple Machines to vBulletin with no problems.
Being a commercial software, vBulletin has lots of advantages over SMF. I have transferred all posts, threads and user accounts from the old forum software, but old users need to reset their passwords before they can start posting again.
As usual, keep the forum active by asking questions, and helping those who ask questions. And as the forum grows, I’ll pick moderators based on their previous activity.

I run SMF for inanetalk.com and I’m perfectly happy with it. Whenever possible, I like to go with open source software.

Good Day
Just wanted to share my new experience.
If your system fails to start due to an error corresponding to lost HAL.DLL, invalid Boot.ini or any other important system boot files you can fix this by using the XP installation CD. Simply boot from your XP Setup CD and enter the Recovery Console. Then run “attrib -H -R -S” on the C:\Boot.ini file and delete it. Run “Bootcfg /Rebuild” and then Fixboot
Cheers,
Carl
