Zune is pretty well known as music player, but it’s also a WiFi device. You can sync music, as well as sharing some music with your loved ones. Microsoft is now eyeing to utilize the same wireless feature to build multiplayer games for the Zune. Yes, multiplayer games using XNA Game Studios! No specific details have been announced as of now, but Microsoft’s Chris Satchell showed a preview of Zauri – a topdown shooter at GDC08.
Details are very limited at the moment, but Neil Hutson’s roadmap suggests local ad-hoc wireless play with up to 8 different Zunes, and the ability to customize the background soundtrack from your library.
Just imagine, how cool it would be to play multiplayer games with your friends in a classroom using portable music player?
