Add to Google Reader, Bloglines, Netvibes

Despite the fact that Blogger is one of the most popular blogging services, it isn’t really the best. But in the recent past, they’ve been trying their best to catch-up with other feature rich blogging engines like WordPress. One of the newest features to join Blogger is post scheduling. This means, you can write posts in advance, and publish it in future. And when the future date and time arrives, it’ll automatically be published on your blog.

This feature comes in handy for those, who are planning to go on vacation, but don’t want to disappoint their reader. Previously, even if a future date was set, it used to go live as soon as we hit the publish button. Workaround was to use email scheduling services to publish the post to your blog via email.

As of now, this feature works only from Blogger in Draft. Those who use regular interface won’t be able see this feature.

  1. This was a much needed option :)

  2. I have to agree that Blogger maybe lacks some of the features that others like Wordpress utilise. However, in it’s defence, for someone who was looking to set up their first blog (like me), it looked like one of the least complicated options.

The post in advance function is a great addition. Spend a weekend writing and let the posts flow out over the week. Like it!

  3. This is a very important feature. Does wordpress have this feature?

  4. Blogger being free, is misused by many, and I think It by this feature it will be misused more, by spammers.
