Mozilla has revealed that Firefox 3 Beta 3 has been code completed on Tuesday, and will be handed over to the Build team to generate Firefox Beta 3 Release candidates on Monday (February 4th). This new beta will include two new features. First one is the new Windows theme for Firefox which has been under development for a while now. However, Vista users won’t be seeing any Vista-specific theme because the work hasn’t completed yet. Until Vista-specific theme is completed, Vista users will have the same XP theme for Firefox.
Second big feature to be seen in Firefox 3 Beta 3 is the new piece of add-on manager which has been integrated with the Firefox add-on site. Users can find new extensions within Firefox 3’s add-on manager without actually visiting the add-on site. A new section called "Get Add-ons" will be added to the Add-on manager, from this section users can search for new add-ons.
The add-on manager will show the title and description of the add-on along with rating and a link back to the add-on’s site. From the screenshot, it appears as if users can install the add-on with a single click. I think new Firefox users will find this feature to be very attractive.
I didn’t really like the XP-theme for Firefox. It has a plastic-like look, which doesn’t look good on Windows Vista. Hope they’ll aggressively work on Vista-specific theme before Beta 4 comes out. I’m looking forward to try Beta 3 on Monday.

I’m on Windows XP and I did not appreciate the new theme much… The default Firefox 2 looked much better, in my opinion.

I am also looking forward to this release. The addon search feature within the browser is a nice addon!
