Here’s an application that’ll soon render your portable devices like laptops, palmtops, and UMPCs redundant in a car. Well, almost!
SEE-ON Technology, a Korean-based R&D company, recently unveiled its 7-inch car PC, CarPC NeO, during the recently concluded CES 2008 held in Las Vegas.
Fueled by Windows XP Embedded Operating System, this car PC is hailed as an AV system in car with Navigation, Black Box, and Telematics Total System.
Some of the key features include:
-
7-inch touch screen monitor with tilt function
-
WCDMA, GSM, GPRS, WIBRO, WIMAX and HSDPA
-
In-Car Entertainment Multimedia Player (movie and music)
-
Real 3D Mapping Navigation
-
True Black Box solution (GPS, 3D Acceleration Sensor, and CAM)
-
Fleet Management System
-
KORIL-RDF (License plate search system in real-time)
-
KT-SEEON Wibro Taxi (Taxi control system, including control server center and CarPC taxi)
The new device supports MP3, MP4, WMA, AVI and DVD formats. You can watch high-resolution movies in your car with relative ease. Not only that, you can substitute your car PC for PMP.
The advantage of having a black box solution is you can analyze the state of accident before and after the accident. The Black-Box Analysis Tool contains collision sensor, collision direction, movies and route analysis (with effect) for capturing 3-Axis sensor data, GPS track data, Saved Movies data, and ECU state.
