Firefox has a nifty search bar which allows you to add multiple search engines. If you are someone like me, then you definitely have a long list of search engines, which makes it harder for you to find the right one when needed. Organize Search Engines is a brilliant Firefox extension which tries to solve this problem by organizing search engines into folders.
Once installed, you can click on "Manage Search Engines" from the drop down menu to bring up the manage search engine dialogue box. From there, you’ll be able to create folders and separators, just like how we do using Firefox’s bookmark manager.
If you combine this with Context Search extension, you’ll be able to right click on any selection on a page and choose from different folders of search engines. Please note that this extension might be having compatibility issues with other search related extensions. Just in case you fall in trouble, you need to email the developer.

This should prove useful. I simply removed my less used engines after noticing that finding the right engine for the job took me too long. This sounds somewhat closer to my ideal situation.
