Orkut was a wonderful place to hang out and meet old friends, but lately, spamming has been a major irritation for me. With a little help from some third party hack, you can now send the same scrap to all your friends at once. It seems as if this third party hack has found a work around to bypass the captcha and advertise itself.
Scrapbook was one of the best things about Orkut, but nowadays it’s more of an irritation than anything else. The only way to block bulk message from reaching your scrapbook is by removing the person from your friends list.
Orkut Help Center advises you to avoid using scripts, no matter what it claims to do. These scripts have the potential to hijack your Orkut account!
Why can’t Google do something about this? I think there are two ways out of this problem. Google should either stop these scripts from working or introduce a new "Scrap to all" feature. Amit Agarwal has a similar opinion on this topic. What do you say?

As you said, it is actually Google’s fault that such scripts exist. I mean - not directly, but more so - because they don’t seem to listen to their users.
These spam scripts, may be spammy, and they promise to fill in the need of the user. If Google does provide the facility - no one would ever want to use such scripts/sites.

I’d like a button to temporarily close my scrapbook so that I can pre-empt the mass forwarders during festivals or holidays.

spamming is surely a threat to cyber space. most of the spammers are also hackers and they break into your pc as soon as you click on their email links. in order to fight the spam threat we need a strong spam filters for our emails which secures us from most of the spam mails. i have heard that http://www.zapak.com is one of the good e-mail service provider who gives maximum protection from most of the spam mails, now that is what we internet lovers require.
