Lately, Gmail has been receiving lots of new features like IMAP and Group Chat. The latest feature to be included in Gmail 2 is colored labels, which lets users easily categorize emails and recognize them based on label color.
You can assign color for labels by clicking on the box next to each label in the sidebar. This new feature works only on the newer version of Gmail, and newer version of Gmail works only on Firefox 2 or Internet Explorer 7. If you happen to be using any other browser, then maybe it’s time to switch.
Dave Cohen, a Software Engineer working on Gmail writes that "we’re doing some work to add some folder-y-ish functionality". I can’t believe they are actually working on something like folders for GMail. I’m just wondering whether folders will eventually replace labels or if they’ll co-exist.

Folders is just a more natural concepts since users are used to working with them in operating systems. I predict that it will eventually replace labels.

Adding to the new features, when you read a message you will also find two links besides the subject….”Find all messages marked with xyz lable or remove the existing lable.
I found it to be nice to have it there.

The new chat functions look pretty nice. I use the downloaded version of gtalk, but the browser-based gmail version is sounding better and better.
