Back in August, Zoho Writer implemented Google Gears and added offline reading ability to their word processor. You could read your saved documents while away from an active internet connection, but you couldn’t edit or save them. Zoho has now improved their offline capabilities by going one step ahead and allowing users to edit as well as save their documents while remaining offline.
This means you could go offline, read documents, edit them and synchronize them with the online version whenever you have internet available. This feature is extremely convenient for frequent commuters who rely on Wi-Fi or any other form of wireless internet while moving.
Alternatively, you could also use free word processors like OpenOffice Writer or AbiWord, but like you know, they store your documents locally, which means collaborating it with other users can be painful.
