Yahoo Messenger 9 for Windows

Beta version of Yahoo Messenger 9 was just released yesterday. It includes a bunch of new features along with a new look and feel which makes the upgrade worthwhile. You can personalize your instant messenger by clicking the dot at the top and choosing any of 7 available skins.

Yahoo Messenger 9 Videos from sites like YouTube and Yahoo! Videos can now be watched without leaving chat conversation window. You can also preview photos and maps within the chat conversation window. They’ve tightly integrated Flickr with Yahoo Messenger 9. You can easily share your Flickr Photos with your friends or save photos shared with you directly to your Flickr account.

Another cool feature is the ability to forward income calls to another mobile or landline number. Call forwarding requires Phone Out account and it’ll be charged under standard rate. Similarly, when signing out, you forward offline IM message as SMS to your mobile phone.

Back in June, Yahoo! held "Emoticontest" and they’ve have taken in several new emoticons from that contest. These emoticons can also be used in your status message to share your mood with your friends.

Yahoo Messenger 9 works well in both XP and Vista. Download it from here.
