Ashampoo WinOptimizer 2008 is a suite of cleaning and optimizing tools for your PC. It’ll help you keep your PC running in good shape. This suite will cost you $49.99, but the October issue of PCWorld India is giving it away for free. Here’s what you have to do, if you can’t get the magazine:
- Download Ashampoo WinOptimizer 2008 from here (link expired!)
- While installing the application, choose “Get fullversion key”. And soon after the installation, you’ll be taken to this page where you can get the key emailed to you. Â Â Â Â
- Now start the application and fill the key. You’ll have a fully licensed version of Ashampoo WinOptimizer 2008.
Ashampoo WinOptimizer (AWO) will work both on XP and Vista, but as like always, you need to run WinOptimizer 2008 as administrator or disable User Account Control (UAC) in Vista. Even advanced users who otherwise prefer to get their hands dirty with registry editing and command line tools will like AWO because it’s a real time saver!

Fantastic, the links still all work as of April 2008 and I have Ashampoo up and wiping files. I have used their optimizer in the past for WinXP SP2 and it did a pretty good job there - with enough control that you can decide what to/what not to delete/wipe/turn-off. Thanks for logging this.

After having used Jv16 Powertools (macecraft.com), even the quote-unquote best windows optimization tools didn’t compare. Jv16 Powertoolshas been the basis for ALL our success in windows optimization.
