Tried loading the new gmail prog (1.5)
on my nokia e70. At the end of the install process, it says ‘unable to install’
and disappears. firmware edition is
2.0618.07.10 Phone is (RM10)

I still get version 1.0.0 from m.gmail.com/app how can I upgrade? this version keep saying loading…, and it never stops loading…

I have been using the app for about a month now.it often loses it’s connection to the network while loading larger e-mails. I don’t know if that is a problem with my motorola phone, my network, my EDGE coverage or the app

Well, in mine, I can’t even send mail through it. It returns error. And, if I use it for sometime, the set gets overheated.

But today, I came to know that my cellphone had one of the exploding defective batteries !!!!!!!!

Man, Glad I didn’t blow up. Sigh …. ;(

i like gmail app for mobile i have been using it for many months but the only problem is it doesn’t load images embedded or attached in mail.

You can only read text, yeah its a mobile version i know but there should be some option to enable or disable it. But no option at all for viewing images in gmail.

Sreejith: True, Symbian has always been buggy. Unfortunately, it is one of the widely accepted mobile platform with hell lot of third party applications.

Marc: Where do you live? Here in India, GRPS is pretty cheap. You just have to pay just half a dollar for a whole day.

I tried it just today and found it excellent.

They have done a great job redesigning the Gmail interface for phones. Very usable and it even emulates the conversation view well.

The line at the bottom you mentioned doesn’t really count as an ad. Many mobile blogging and email applications insert such self-advertising text in posts and email respectively. It isn’t as bad as Yahoo mail putting random ads INSIDE the email.

Too bad GPRS is so expensive.

Compared to Yahoo! or Hotmail, Google does less advertising. Gmail almost looks ad-free. Anyway, I had a problem with the previous Gmail Mobile. It somehow cannot upload messages from the device. Hope they fixed it. Symbian is crap. Very unreliable. That may be the reason. Isnt it ?
