Windows Live Writer is one of my favorite blogging tools. It helps me blog comfortably, without having to draft my posts in my browser window or manually upload images over FTP. But moving Windows Live Writer settings from one computer to another is a whole lot tricky. You can probably try backing up registry and all the files from WLW’s directory. Won’t it be awesome, if you could backup all settings, draft posts and plugins with a single click of button? That’s exactly what Scott Lovegrove’s Live Write Backup Utility does. It’s a free utility for taking the hassles out of backing up and restoring your Windows Live Writer settings.

Note: If you are running this on Vista with UAC turned on, you’ll have to run it as administrator.

Thanks for the tip. I really liked Windows Live Writer, but stopped using it for that reason. Now I think I’ll start running it again.
