Google Shared Stuff

Google just made a silent entry into the social sharing arena by launching a new service called Google Shared Stuff. It’s pretty simple and straight forward. All you have to do is drop a bookmarklet into your browser, and whenever you come across something interesting, just click on it.

The shared item will appear on your unique (publicly accessible) shared stuff page with description and associated tags. Other than that, the bookmarklet can be used to share stuff with your contacts through email. Optionally, you can also share it on third party sites like Facebook, Furl, del.icio.us, Social Poster, Reddit or Digg.

For those who are curious to know what hot is being shared, there is a "Most Popular Shared Stuff" page. You must be logged into your Google Account for Shared Stuff to be accessible. No formal announcement has been made for this service. Maybe, they just want to keep it low profile as of now, or maybe something new is yet to be added.
