Starting from next week, Fox Broadcasting will offer seven season premier television shows on iTunes for free. This move from Fox comes as an effort to push upcoming season of new and returning primetime shows to iPod users.
“Prison Break,” “Bones,” “American Dad” and “K-Ville” are some of the shows which will be offered for free on iTunes. By offering earlier episodes for free, Fox hopes that viewers will return and watch future episodes as they are broadcasting on TV or purchase it via iTunes.
In a similar move, ABC started offering full-length, ad supported primetime shows on AOL. On the other side of the news, NBC recently broke up with Apple, and denied to renew their contract with iTunes. NBC has now announced that they’ll start offering shows such as “Heroes” and “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” on a new service called NBC Direct. After a show airs on NBC, it can be downloaded for 7 days. The downloaded shows contain ads, and you’ll have to watch the content within 7 days.
It’s pretty interesting to see how internet is trying to dominate the television industry. Watching TV over internet seems to be the latest trend.

Sreejith: Yeah, but unfortunately we cannot create an iTunes account here in India, which means no free Fox shows for us. iPod sells like hell here in India (even though majority of folks opt for Shuffle).

Its kinda sad Apple is never keen in selling any of their **** here in India. Of course, the buying power in India is less compared to US and all.
But, I was hoping that the iPhone would come to India quick because its one of the fastest growing mobile market. The reason shuffles get more sales is that its cheap.
And the reason other models sell less is because you could get another media player with same features for half the price [China imports
