I’m glad to announce that TechBuzz is finally getting a makeover! Hopefully, all of you will like it as much as I did. The theme was well crafted by ProBlogDesign. I’d also like to thank Sankar Anand for his involvement in building the new logo. So, here’s what it looks like:
Many readers complained that they didn’t like the old color scheme, so we decided to come-up something entirely new. Michael coded this theme right from scratch, so you might encounter some minor glitches here and there, please use the contact form to report them.
Here’s a list of new things, you’ll see here:
- New "TechBuzz" Logo
- Back and White color scheme for better readability
- Translation icons on the top left corner. Powered by Google’s Translation Tool. It’ll soon be replaced with a better plugin.
- Sidebar has been re-arranged. Add AideRSS widget to show hot and popular articles by month.
- Moved the "Top Commentator" section on the sidebar to a prominent location, so that top commentators can reap maximum attention and traffic
- MyBlogLog avatars (or Gravatar) in comments
- New Shopping Portal has been added. Powered by Chitika (aff)
I would greatly appreciate, if you can share your thoughts via comments.

This design is better than the earlier one. as you said some of them had some issue with the color scheme, i feel the color scheme was better earlier, its not just too good, but the designing has been changed, and thats what make it better

hi thilak, nice design but the font looks to be large, try reducing the font size or try a different font.

Finally the new design is live. Looks great!
There is no AddThis button for bookmarking. Any specific reason?

I love the new look, its great. I wasn’t too fond of the old look but this is great.

Nice one you have there, big fonts..

the corner edges of the header were not rendered properly. especially the below part. All the fonts seem somewhat big! make it a little smaller if possible.
Techbuzz now gets a professional look, i like the mybloglog thing and the ad placed below it. it is perfectly placed there which adds pro look.
my other suggestion is instead of using tags we can use tag cloud to give a web 2.0 feel. Make the nagivation font little smaller.
If possible try for any other alternative font family for the blog.

As I mentioned at the other post, excellent design. I like it.
Here is a small glitch. If the comment box comes within height of the side bar, then it overlaps, and looks pretty ugly when all the text overlaps over the sidebar as we type.

I really like this design. Previous one had only one sidebar but space for another one. Bets of luck with your new design.

AV: Some readers adviced me to increase the font size to make this blog more readable. I think, it’s all about preference. You may try reducing the font size pressing Ctrl + - on your browser.
Goutam: Instead of AddThis button, I’ve add ShareThis Plugin which does the same job pretty neatly. Check the post meta footer.
Sankar: I agree with you regarding tags! Which plugin do you use on your blog? BTW, can you provide a screenshot of the bug? and which font do you advice?
Vyoma: Thanks for the screenshot. I’ll fix it!
Vasu: Yeah, I plan to release the old theme, but there is much work left to make that theme universally compatible with all WordPress Powered Blog!
Amit: Hopefully, more and more people will use the shopping cart. Thanks!
Karthik: Thanks! I’m waiting for your suggestions!
Indyank: I ran out of ideas when it came to picking colors for this blog. What color do you advice?

wow I really like the new look! Nice work!

I can see the text breaking the split line in the Recent comments widget.
The font size is Ok for the body as some prefer it slightly bigger..Probably you can have a smaller one for the sidebars. This will help you add more widgets in future.
i also notice font (size and type) being different for the Recent comments widget than it being the same as others.Make the font type uniform for all widgets in the sidebars.

Regarding the colors I will suggest some variations of blue.Any color in tune with the blog’s category would be great.
I, for some reason, do not prefer dark coloured schemes for a technology blog.
For traffic, I do like the concept behind blogrush and i have installed one on my site. You can try that as I see it getting popular in blogosphere.Would be greatful, if you could join it thro the link on my blog.
I will tell you what, this is better than the link loves. You may be aware that link loves are not good for Google page ranks. But with Blogrush, you avoid that as it is a script based widget.

Thilak, the new design is great. I love black !! And the logo rocks too.
But, I think you can change the comment design so that comments by the blogger (you) is emphasized. I’m sure you’ll get me.

Great design and better readability, I suggest you to use a bit smaller font!

i miss the blue of the old blog. its bright . this black is a bit dull
other than tat its much betr than the old

I don’t like the black sidebar. It’s tough to concentrate on it. Also ads won’t blend on black sidebar.

nice placement of the feeds and translation buttons

I glad you choose this one. It really better then a previous one. Good job !!!

Lightyears ahead of your last theme!! Looks great!!
I think the fonts are too big though - doesn’t make your site feel ‘techie’. Also the bold font in the comment entry box probably needs fixing

The logo is very impressive, but the font size need to be reduced a little also I feel that the color scheme was better in your previous one. I would suggest to tryout some other color combinations with the theme to a good feel while browing the site…
