Google Reader adds Search!

Google has finally added the search feature in Google Reader which lets you search your subscriptions and shared items by others. You no longer have to kill time manually searching for those good old articles, which is needed as reference. Instead, you can use the search feature to find it.

You can search through all items or narrow it down by folders or specify the blog. Previously, I was using this greasemonkey hack to search my subscriptions. Naturally, it wasn’t as good as the one implemented by Google now.

Other minor tweaks included the ability to hide the side navigation bar by clicking the empty area between the content area and the navigation bar. It will also show your unread count upto 1000 now!

Unfortunately, Google Reader has ditched Opera. If you are using Opera, you can only see the logo and the top toolbar. Let’s hope they fix it as soon as possible.
