Firefox lacks a good extension for handling proxies. One of the most common problems faced by those who depend upon proxies at school or office is that their administrators blacklist some of these proxies. Using Add to Search Bar extension (review), I was able to find a work around to this problem, by turning the search bar into a dependable random proxy switcher.
- After installing Add to Search Bar extension, go to Proxy.org (an excellent repository of thousands of proxies)
- Right-click on the “Enter a URL to visit:” field and click on “Add to Search Bar?”
It’s quite easy to use. You have to set your search bar to Proxy.org and type the address into the search bar. It will automatically take you to the address using some random proxy server. The downside is that you might get a random proxy which may not work due to several reasons, but fortunately, all you have to do is move your cursor on the search bar and press “Enter” key again.
Since proxy.org has a total of 12,500 proxies, it gives you a better chance of sneaking into your favorite website using proxies which haven’t been blacklisted yet.

Most of the proxies listed in proxy.org are scanned by administrators and are blacklisted another thing they do scan for the proxy word in the URL and body content.
And most of the proxy site owners to get more search indexed they add the proxy keyword here and ther in their content and body.
There are only few sites which i have seen like pagemod.com and … cant remember those names which seemed to have bypassed our $10k office filter

Thanks for the tip, but like Shaz said, of course proxy.org will already be blocked “everywhere”.
It is here.
A list like that is a very handy resource for people scanning for other proxies as well, like LP said.
The only/best way to bypass a properly set up and maintained proxy is by doing it yourself.
Make your own proxy software, or find it somewhere, put it behind a (sub)domain that isn’t banned yet, and password protect it so nobody else uses it and gets it banned.
