Adding frequently searched sites to your Firefox Search Bar can be real time saver (especially, if you are a keyboard shortcut ninja), but the problem is that most site owners don’t build search plugin for Firefox. Either you’ll have to build the plugin yourself or wait for the site owner to build one, both the options are cumbersome!
I just came across a great addon called Add to Search Bar on How-to Geek. It does exactly what the name says. It allows you to add any the search functionality of any page to the Search Bar. You can right-click on any search field and choose “Add to Search Bar…” to effortlessly add the search functionality to your Search Bar. (Just like how you add keyword to search)
I’m personally a great fan of searching using keywords, but if you have a large list of keywords for search, then it’s probably a better idea to add some in your Search Bar.
Did you know: You can quickly jump to the search box in Firefox by hitting Ctrl + K. You can change search provider the pressing Ctrl and Up/Down key.
