The news has already spread all over the web that Google is planning on launching a health related service next year. According to details and screenshots posted on Google Blogoscoped, the main goal of the project is to put you in control of your health information. A prototype of Google health was shown to health professional and advisors.
Google Health lets you post your health profile online, get personalized recommendation from specialized doctors and share it with other people. This service also enables you to search health related information like Symptoms and suggested medications? etc. You can find medical professionals living near you with Google’s Doctor Directory.
It will surely be challenging for Google, as only 20 percent of patients in US have computerized records of their health profile. For most of us, Google is already the starting point to search more related to health queries. It’ll be interesting to see how Google makes health information accessible to all.
