How-to: Create ASCII Art out of your photos

A bunch of friends pointed me to this page which features the ASCII portraits of 100 popular bloggers. I’m sure every blogger worth his name would like to be featured in that ASCII gallery. Due to certain restrictions that cannot be done, but that shouldn’t discourage you from getting your photo transcribed into ASCII art.

With a little help from Text-Image.com and your browser, you can beautifully convert your colored photograph into colored ASCII art:

  1. Go to Text-Image.com and locate your image file.
  2. Fill-in the characters to be used in the ASCII art (You might probably want to add your name as a sequence in your ASCII art)
  3. Choose the font size (and maybe you can also add some extra contrast)
  4. Click on the convert button and wait for the ASCII art to render.

  • Thats a great feature, I'm gonna try it out. :D
  • But, don't you think that the image itself is not made of ASCII but just the text is pasted on the image.
  • Ow.. I try to convert my face. It looks ugly!
  • Will have to give it a try as i always like the ASCII art made by various internet groups
