I think Google Desktop Search is a great product. GDSL is the best desktop search.

However I do not want to have Google looking over my shoulder. It all comes down to privacy, and I do not trust Google.

People always ignore Linux when releasing a product. I mean, even Google who has always stood for Open Source. I understand its better to release for Windows audience from a marketing standpoint.

Google Desktop is a relief. But still not enough. I think Linux should unite and be one other than 360+ distros. Thats the problem nowadays. I heard some buzz about "Google Linux" lately. I'm not sure. But I think thats a good move. Anyway, in which platform are you working on, guys ?
