AT&T Rate Plans for iPhone

With just 2 days left for the launch day, Apple and AT&T continue to leak information to keep the iPhone hot. Yesterday, they announced three rate plans and activation details for the iPhone. All three plans include unlimited data, visual voicemail, 200 SMS messages, roll-over minutes and unlimited mobile-to-mobile calling.

“We want to make choosing a service plan simple and easy, so every plan includes unlimited data with direct Internet access, along with Visual Voicemail and a host of other goodies,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We think these three plans give customers the flexibility to experience all of iPhone’s revolutionary features at affordable and competitive prices.”

The $59.99 plan gives you 450 minutes of airtime, $79.99 gives you 900 minutes and $99.99 buys 1350 minutes. All plans come with 200 free text messages per month, if that is not enough, you can buy 1500 SMS messages for $10 or pay $20 for unlimited text messages.

Users will be able to activate their iPhone using the iTunes software for Mac and Windows. An additional $36.00 will be charged for activation. Apple has posted a video which shows you how to activate your iPhone.

    This iPhone is quite pricy.
I think parents of teens and gadget lovers have to consider the long term costs before they spend so much money on this booty gadget.

Thank you for sharing this story with me !

I’ve been reading more and more about the iPhone last week and I’ve decided I wouldn’t take it even if it comes to India. The crap doesn’t support 3G ! And, it doesn’t even support 3rd-Party Software !!! Yuck !!

I mean, whats a phone without softwares ? And, have you heard that AT&T has deviced trap for the users. Even if you buy the iPhone by paying the full price, you need to pay some $100+ for just cancelling it. lol.

They’re just striking when the iron is hot. They know people will go crazy for it. Especially the fan-boys. Looks like Apple is also learning dirty marketing like Microsoft with AT&T being their mentor. ;)
