@Samir yeah you are right, their bugging out with ASP since all of their services are in php..

Yeah many of the geeks had stepped in to find a way of integrating orkut to twitter so that we can read our scraps in the sms.
Currently if twitter allows posting updates via mail, we can create a filter in gmail which sends the rss feed mail to twitter notifications. Or maybe paulstamatiou made a php script to send rss feeds to twitter you must check in..

hey great find. i just came to know about your blog.
yeah i too think that google should be more serious towards towards orkut. and in india lot’s of younger ppl are coming or attracted towards it google has better opportunity to en cash the market.

nice, but what makes this any different ? just because its readable via feed reader. it isnt cool. just one purpose served.

how about orkut giving us intimations of scrap a la twitter asking for /giving updates of friends? so i could reply back through IM. complicated(they would have to get a orkut bot or something) but would save me a retarded visit to the page each time i get a scrap.

This something amazing. But will anyone can take time to subscribe and read this scraps in any RSS Reader than just opening Orkut and checking his scraps?

It can be good for Firefox users because they can use the Firefox Live Bookmark and get updates to there scraps there only!

Interesting find.

My theory about Google’s seeming indifference to Orkut is that they either have no epic plans for it at the moment, or their plans are just not solid enough to make public.

OR … they are just tearing their hair out trying to make sense of the ASP backend they are stuck with and wishing there was some magical way to convert all functionality and data to PHP and the like.

Also Orkut is facing alot of spam. Google should do something about it.
