While most Apple fans are eagerly awaiting iPhone’s arrival in mid-June, someone has already started selling 14K solid gold 4GB iPhone on eBay. The price is $9500 and the seller has 99% positive rating.
Engadget listed three auctions, out of which two (here & here) have been removed by eBay (most probably to counter scams). One among the three listed auction is an 8GB Apple iPhone which has been sold for $1025, to a winning bidder named babyshopping85 (more details here).

Although the seller has a nice positive feedback, it’s hard to say whether the item is legitimate. We seen some pre-sale scams in the past, and it won’t surprise me if this auction turns out to be a scam as well. Even if the seller works for Apple or has an inside hand within Apple, it’s hard to believe because it was previously rumored that Apple was tackling quality problem and this may delay the launch date of iPhone.
