Google has recrafted their Google Reader to make it Wii friendly, which means Wii users can comfortable sit in their couch and read feeds using their TV and WiiMote. Google Reader will automatically detect Wii and switch its interface accordingly; however, you can still try the Wii version in your standard desktop browser, by visiting http://www.google.com/reader/wii.
Shortcuts you need to know when using Google Reader on Wii:
- up/down: scroll up/down
- right/left: next/previous item
- 1 button: show subscriptions
- 2 button: show links
Shortcuts which will help you navigate through subscriptions:
- up/down: previous/next subscription
- right: select current subscription
- left: close
- -/+: collapse/expand folder
I’m not a regular Google Reader user, nor do I own a Wii, but I tried playing with the Wii friendly interface on Firefox and all the shortcuts worked on my standard keyboard as well, but the text appeared very big in my browser, which I assumed to be designed for comfortable viewing in TV.

That’s a really neat idea for how to use an interesting new input device.
Now the important question is, has Google prepared itself for all those times it’s going to be sued for broken windows?

Another great Wiisite can be found at http://www.onlywii.com
Think of it as CSS Mania but for Wiisites.
