Back when I used to play loads of Quake I always wanted a level that was a replica of my place of work. It didn’t mean that I was unstable or about to go on a killing spree in real life. For many people these games are a means to vent frustrations, just like paintball.
Now if the kid in question had created player models of his tutors to gun down, that would be a different story…
I back James’ statement above about the player model, but from the information portrayed here, I would say that it was a bit drastic suspending the map creator. Maybe it would have been better to talk it through, and then encourage his skills as a map creator
Ha ha ha, real cool issue here, thilak. I think the real matter is the old man who in charge to suspend this poor little child.
May be that old man is a non-techie-bad-breath-and-blame-caster type of man.
He think this child are going to destroy his precious school, so, he “kill” the child before get killed by the child! hahaha
Bad adult… give wrong example for his next generation. He just keep the child’s creativity down until the lower level.
Why did the boy got suspended? I mean, what was his fault actually? He just created a map. Would that be also wrong if he would have created a 3D model of his school somewhere?
That school manager must have a hard time learning Counter-Strike :p, I guess. So, he just took out the frustration at that poor kid. :p

A classic example of all concerned being caught up in the results of a mass state of over reaction, whether they personally like it or not. The point remains that if the school didn’t do this and something like a shooting occurred later, they would be taken to task or sued for not taking precautions or reading the signs. At the same time if this student is just a another well-adjusted creative teenager (as is likely), his creativity has now been stifled by being twisted into being something dark and sinister.

Hahaha! Now, this is funny!

We truly do live in paranoid times.

In the end no one wins.
