TechCrunch is shooting out unconfirmed reports that StumbleUpon is in talks to be acquired. The website discovery service which recently expanded into video has been amazingly successful. AOL, Google and eBay are said to be involved in the process, but people close to the deal leaked that eBay is most likely to win. The price is rumored to be somewhere around $40 - $75 million, but GigaOM heard it close to $40-$45 million.

According to GigaOM, StumbleUpon would be a perfect addition to complete their toolbar offerings. They could even add StumbleUpon’s components into Skype, which is slowing integrating various services into the client. These reports are yet to be confirmed. It would be interesting to see in which direction eBay is planning to take StumbleUpon. StumbleUpon is a pretty cool service, It has been providing me with a slow but steady traffic. Don’t you think $40 - $75 million is a bit low for such a wonderful service? Are you in favor of this deal?
